PAHO/WHO recognizes Costa Rica, El Salvador and Suriname for drastically reducing malaria cases and deaths in the last 15 years

Suriname, is one of the three winners of the Malaria Champions award, presented by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in observance of the Malaria Day of the Americas on November 6. Costa Rica and El Salvador were the other two winners, following their remarkable succes in malaria control and near elimination.
